What are the main components of a kitchen ESP cell?

The collector cell is the core working component of a commercial kitchen electrostatic precipitator (ESP), which directly determines fume purification efficiency, stability and service life. Different from complete ESP machines, the ESP cell focuses on electrostatic adsorption functions, consisting of three core functional parts: ionization section, collection section and insulating assembly.

The ionization section is the front-end purification unit. It is composed of Ionization strips or needle electrodes. When powered on, it generates a low & high-voltage electrostatic field or single high-voltage electrostatic field to ionize passing cooking fume, oil mist and smoke particles. All neutral pollutants will be instantly charged, laying the foundation for subsequent adsorption and separation. This part is key to ensuring fine particle capture.

The collection section is responsible for pollutant interception and purification. It adopts dense parallel metal plate structures, usually made of high-quality aluminum alloy or 304 stainless steel. Charged oil fume particles are firmly adsorbed on the plate surface under the action of electrostatic force. After long-term operation, the accumulated grease will drip down to the oil collection tray, realizing physical separation of smoke and oil.

The insulating assembly is an essential safety and stable operation component. Made of high-insulation fire-resistant materials, it isolates high-voltage parts from metal frames to prevent electric leakage, short circuits and arcing. High-quality insulators effectively resist oil pollution and high-temperature aging, avoiding ESP breakdown and purification failure caused by dirty insulation.

In addition, auxiliary structures including oil guide grooves and positioning brackets optimize overall performance. Standard integrated ESP cells feature easy disassembly, cleaning and reinstallation. Regular maintenance of these core components can maintain over 95% long-term fume removal efficiency, helping commercial kitchens meet environmental emission standards stably.
