An ESP (Electrostatic Precipitator) primarily removes airborne smoke, grease, and fine oil mist particles. It is not designed to eliminate gaseous cooking odors on its own, though it can slightly reduce the odor that is attached to those physical particles.
How it works
Particulate Removal: It charges smoke and grease particles electrically and traps them on collection plates. This achieves up to 98% smoke and oil mist removal.
Odor Control: Because cooking smells are actually vaporized gases (Volatile Organic Compounds or VOCs), they easily pass right through an ESP.
How to get full odor removal
To completely neutralize kitchen odors, additional filtration stages must be installed in sequence with the ESP
Activated Carbon Filters: Uses carbon to adsorb and trap odor-causing molecules.
UV-C/Ozone Systems: Breaks down VOCs and odor molecules at the molecular level.
