Correct installation sequence for the filter screen and electric field of the ecological unit purification box

  Ecological purification units are commonly used to treat cooking fumes and exhaust in commercial kitchens. The internal component layout directly determines purification performance; incorrect installation can lead to issues such as electric field short circuits, rapid filter clogging, and failure to remove smoke or odors. All components must be installed sequentially from the air inlet to the air outlet, strictly following the direction of airflow.

  Standard installation sequence for the unit (inlet side → outlet side): metal pre-filter → electrostatic field module → activated carbon filter → fan.

The first stage is the metal pre-filter, positioned immediately next to the air inlet. It primarily captures large oil mist particles and debris, preventing heavy oil deposits from directly striking the electric field plates—which would otherwise cause rapid oil accumulation and arcing. During installation, ensure the filter sits flat within its slot with no air gaps, the metal mesh faces the air intake direction, and the frame fits snugly against the unit housing.

  The second stage is the core electrostatic field module, positioned behind the pre-filter. The ionizing section of the electric field should face the air inlet, while the dust-collecting section faces the air outlet. Align the high-voltage contact points of the electric field with the high-voltage spring contacts inside the housing and gently push the module into place; do not force it, as this could deform the electrode plates. Plate deformation can lead to arcing or short circuits, preventing the equipment from operating correctly. The electric field must be completely dry after cleaning before being reinstalled to avoid short-circuiting upon power-up.

  The third stage is an activated carbon filter, located downstream of the electric field. Air purified by the electric field passes through the activated carbon layer, which adsorbs odors and VOCs to eliminate unwanted smells. The activated carbon filter must not be placed upstream; otherwise, oil and grease will rapidly clog the pores of the activated carbon, causing premature failure of the filter and a loss of odor-removal capability.

Installation and maintenance must be performed with the power disconnected. Once all components are in place, inspect the unit to ensure there are no loose parts or air leaks between layers; securely close the access door and verify that the safety interlock switch is engaged before restoring power for a test run. For routine maintenance, disassemble the components in the reverse order of installation: first remove the activated carbon filter, then the electric field, and finally the pre-filter. Adhering to this specific sequence is crucial for ensuring the stable operation of the purification unit.
