difference between high altitude (Single Pass) and low altitude (Double Pass) for electrostatic precipitator

What is the difference between high altitude (Single Pass) and low altitude (Double Pass) for electrostatic precipitator (ESP) ?

1. Different installation positions

Literally, high-altitude esp, also known as high-altitude emission electrostatic precipitator , are generally installed on the top floor of buildings to dilute the oil fume exhaust gas through the high-level airflow.

Low-altitude oil fume purifier is also a low-altitude emission electrostatic air cleaner . Generally, the equipment is required to have high purification efficiency and discharge directly at low places without diluting the oil fume exhaust gas.

Low-altitude oil fume purifiers can be installed in low or high places. If high-altitude electrostatic precipitator are installed in low places, the restaurant generally does not meet environmental protection standards.

2. Different application environment

High-altitude (Single Pass) ESP: suitable for counties, cities and towns with low environmental protection requirements, economic backwardness, and poor living environment, such as small-scale restaurants, snack bars, canteens, etc.

Low-altitude (Double Pass) ESP: suitable for cities, towns, etc. with high environmental protection requirements, developed economies, and quality of life environment, such as: high-end hotels, restaurants in tourist areas, medium and large restaurants, food courts, urban complexes, etc.

3. Different purification efficiency

The purification efficiency of low-altitude ESP is generally above 85%, while high-altitude electrostatic precipitator are generally only 10%-70%. The national standard for oil fume emission is 2 mg/m3, which corresponds to a purification efficiency of more than 80%. It is also the reason why it is said that high-altitude ESP  installed in low places cannot meet environmental protection standards.

4. The price is different

Put the low-altitude and high-altitude electrostatic precipitator together, and the difference can be clearly seen from the appearance. No matter the material, size, and manufacturing process of the equipment, the high-altitude

Electrostatic air cleaner are generally inferior to the low-altitude ESP, which are generally better. A low-altitude  electrostatic precipitator with a 4000 air volume needs several thousand yuan, and a few hundred yuan can be bought at high altitude.
